Custom VOCs Recovery Systems for Oil Depots & Chemical Plants

For vapor emissions from oil depot tank farms and chemical plant process areas, Vohon provides skid-mounted custom systems combining compression, condensation, membrane separation and carbon adsorption as required — capacities from 50 m³/h up to 800 m³/h, recovering solvents while meeting stable emission targets.

Typical Applications
Two mainstream scenarios; the process is engineered to the media and concentration, both delivered as fully automated skid-mounted units.
Oil Depot Tank Farm Vapor Recovery
  • Media: crude oil & product tank breathing vapors
  • Typical process: compression + condensation + carbon adsorption
  • Capacity: from 50 m³/h, scalable to 400 / 800 m³/h
  • Emission: NMHC ≤120 mg/m³; removal efficiency ≥95%
  • Interlocked with tank pressure & oxygen level, auto start/stop

Chemical Plant Organic Off-gas Recovery
  • Media: esters, alcohols, ketones, aromatics and other organic vapors
  • Typical process: compression + condensation + membrane separation (hybrid)
  • Capacity: WHSH-500VOC, 500 m³/h, turndown 30%–110%
  • Inlet 8000 mg/m³ → outlet <500 mg/m³
  • Recovery rate ≥95%; recovered solvents ready for reuse

Applications (Processable Media)
Vohon membrane separation recovery covers the common organic vapor media below; final design follows on-site component analysis.

  • Ethers: MTBE, dimethyl ether, etc.
  • Olefin monomers: ethylene, propylene, butadiene, etc.
Custom Process Combination
Units are selected and combined per media composition, inlet concentration and on-site utilities — for the lowest combined running cost with stable compliance.

Compression

Oil-injected screw compressor, near-isothermal compression, discharge temperature below 50°C; wetted parts in 316L stainless steel with multiple safety interlocks.

Condensation

Condensing temperature above 0°C to avoid ice formation; constant-temperature cold storage for instant start-up, energy efficiency ratio up to 1:3.

Membrane / Carbon

Uncondensed gas is enriched by membrane modules and recycled to the inlet, or polished by carbon adsorption; membrane is physical separation with no hazardous waste, design life 8+ years.
